Yale School of Architecture - Building Project Phase I  (3.5 weeks) Critic: Amy Lelyveld Published in Retrospecta 2013-2014 The courtyard house is a minimal-dwelling model designed to provide a dynamic and relational living experience. It imagines two dwellings framing a semi-indoor court—the primary element of the proposal—wherein the owner and tenant can experience a range of private and shared activities. Especially suited for multi-generational families, this model affords a sense of connectedness between the lives and activities of the house's residents through the medium of the courtyard—instead of the stark separation that would result from a partition wall.
